The Folly of the World
In The Folly of the World1, there is this:
A sudden disgust tugged at his guts like a swallowed fishhook — the things men did to half-grown kids made him want to murder the world.
This comes from the mind of Sander, a pathological murderer, thief, impostor and villain in every sense of the word. Despite his vast, unapologetic sins of bloodlust, cruelty and subversion, and even through his twisted worldview, he recognizes there is a deeper evil, a crime that cannot be forgiven, a blacker level beneath even the most subhuman scum, a direct conduit to the Ninth Circle of Hell.
We live in a time where just reading the news makes me want to murder the world ten times over.
